Working on my largest sculpture was challenging to say the least! The outside petals wouldn't stay up by themselves so I had to use objects in my surroundings to prop them up until the gum tape was dry, it is also quite large (between 1-2metres) so was difficult to manoeuvre around it, but I managed it and dealt with the space I was in. I also found as it was larger the closer i got to the middle the harder it became to get to it - back ache was my friend for a few days! But despite all the challenges I feel the outcome of the sculpture was a success and I am happy with the overall aesthetic of the piece. I especially like the creases and folds on the petals, giving the rose character and a personality - in the sense that it has its own identity; like a fingerprint. Like a person. |
